Hi all you between the covers readers.  I love the new blog. Great idea Debra ain’t Suzanne.  This helps me feel connected to y’all., even though I’m out here in cowboy country.  bill and I are enjoying the easier life of retirement, even though we keep pretty busy with all the activities in this fun “active adult” community. thankfully,  Bill’s Alzheimers hasn’t progressed. However, we recently discovered he has prostate cancer and will have to undergo radiation treatment this summer. Hopefully that will take care of it.  I’ve been told that Most men do recover from this .
We’ve joined a wonderful Episcopal church here that has been a warm source of comfort and peace.
And the neighbors in this community are so caring and friendly, even though they are from all over the world.  I’ve decided to just keep focusing on the present - trying to live in the here and now and finding at least three things a day to be grateful for. This has really helped me to stop whining and feel more positive.
I miss y’all. Come visit ,
Janet

  3. Janet, I miss you so much. The Book Club hasn't been the same since you have been gone. I always enjoyed your insight on the books that we read. Many prayers to you and Bill and a special prayer of healing especially for Bill. The next time I visit Texas I am going to look you up. Until then, it is great we can all still be connected.

  6. Janet — so good to hear from you! I think I just got on the blog — will see if it posts. We are going through prostrate cancer too. Phil just finished week 3 of radiation. So far he is driving himself to Jackson 5 days a week. Hopefully that will keep up.
Glad you are getting settled out there in cowboy country!

We had a grand old time at Saturday's Book Club soiree, perhaps fueled by Happy Hour priced margaritas. In attendance were Susan, Gail...
